MITA TAKES GOLDEN BOYO AS LEGLESS SHINES AGAIN PDF Print E-mail

It was yet another great turn out for training last night, no doubt his promise of making an attendance at last nights training encouraged other players to drag their butts out of their arm chair and come down for a run out, so well done to, already contender for player of the year,  Legless.

The training game was reasonable well balanced, unlike the array of singlets on display, with scores matched try for try, fitness levels are looking impressive with some very good runs made. Worth noting would be Skips burst of energy that saw him sprinting up the outside like a winger to very nearly run in a try.

Colin also put in a couple of good sprints one of which unfortunately cost him as he pulled a Flynnie and he had to join the other two injured players of the night, Nick and Michael king, for an early bath.

The highlight of the evenings big sprints had to be the unmistakable sight of George ‘Mita’ Hamilton running the whole length of the pitch at full sprint, with Ray Howells nipping at the ankles of the sun god the try looked a certainty, however a forward pass that saw the ball come out to Mita denied him a richly deserved try.

The evening wasn’t without its dark side, and it is with a heavy heart that the writer has to report on what can only be described as a moment of reckless behaviour from two of the most respected/oldest players in the team.  As Tim and Skip exchanged blows the look of shock across the rest of the squad was sadly not evident. At this time both Tim and Skip are unable to comment on the event pending a full committee hearing their future with the squad remains to be seen, however as they are the committee it is not thought that the pair will suffer too harsh a penalty.

The training game did however continue and lapses in concentration levels were frequent on both sides (possibly bought on by the aroma of snags cooking on legless). To the usual cry of “one more try” both teams fought on and despite breaking Just-Ins record for most consecutive drops of the ball (a record that Jamie King was also trying to break) and after a very long battle between both teams, to the cries of “I want a beer” ringing around the field, the final try of the night was run in by Nasties Virgin Frank. Well done Frank good effort.

Ado awarded a commendation to Ray Howells for wearing the worst top of the night and gave the Golden Boyo to Mita for his sprint of the entire field and still not scoring, so well done to Mita who’s attempt to down his prize was, to put it politely, crap! (Skip I don’t think we should say anything hear about Mita’s boast later in the evening that he didn’t even drink it all, as that would probably hand him some sort of forfeit which the lads would no doubt want to see enforced on him)
