Nasties Rugby
Nasties Rugby
The final on field event for The Newport Nasties in 2008 has concluded in typical fashion, free flowing rugby, much humour and a dislocated Knee cap.

Another strong turnout saw the pitch being increased in size, those people making the unkind remarks about the pitch being Pup Walshwidened to accomodate one side having Tim Bentley, Pup Walsh (pictured) and Troy McGrath in it should take a long hard look at themselves.

Unusually the team running into the wind scored first, that is where the good stuff ended. Try after Try was scored by the usual winners who once again were led poorly by Sean P.

The match was being played at a furious pace when from nowhere the sniper that pulled down Tim Bentley in the first Nasties match at Avoca returned to haunt the club. With Deek making a typically bustling run up the left wing he was felled with no one near him and all nasties watched as he pushed back his own knee cap into place. well done Deek tremendous bravery.

All Nasties look forward to Darren Flynn stiching up his own hamstring in coming months.

Play resumed with the beer esky missing some ice which Deek was now using (selfishly) for his own knee. The injury must have disturbed Mike Sergeant as he started running around like a crazed giraffe.

The match started to open up with both sides running in tries, the winning team at the end of the match riased three cheers to Mark Trollope for his 17 poor passes that resulted in tries for their team.

Last but not least happy xmas and what a year for the nasties.
