Newport Nasties Rugby
Nasties Rugby
That can be the only conclusion when we have 18 nasties turning up for a game of touch on the promise of a free beer - either that or they are tight.

Good to see a couple of new faces welcome Adam and Aido.

The match itself was disturbed greatly by the blustery conditions and helped see Scott Dalton rush past Paul Hawke three times in quick succession to send the team with 9 players into a early lead.

Despite Hawky moving to the opposite wing Matty Read continued the benevolence letting through another try to see the 9 players

into a 4 nil lead. The 8 players always knew they were a chance with Justin B and Mike S (pictured) lining up next to each other. Those chances would take a while to occur.

With Skip looking to break his own world record for flick passes in a game some loose balls were starting to aid the 8 man team, the 8 soon became 9 with the arrival of Mita.

With the playing numbers evened up the game took a completely different complexion with both new blokes making some great runs and tries were exchanged by both teams. With the score at 6 - 2 the better looking, fitter and all together great blokes team started to really take control running in try after try to bring the scores back to 6 all.

With just seconds left to play the original 9 had a 4 players to two over lap with just Boyo and Pup facing the onslaught. Pup then let out the most confident "I've got Scott covered" Boyo ghosted across to cover the next man who it turns out was not needed as former tight head prop Dalton scooted round pup to race the 15 metres for the final match winning score.

Once again the beer (strctly speaking it was Heineken, not beer) flowed afterwards. Onwards and upwards with the Newport Nasties.
