Nasties Rugby If the Spaghetti Westerns gave us the magnificent seven at the cinema well the Newport Nasties Devesatating Dozen (DD) have given back more to rugby tonight.
The usual quick warm ups and a couple of run throughs were put away with ease by the DD, Scotty Dalton openned the scoring with a mesmerising run on the back of anger that his new Maquarie Bank ball had been spurned for Sean's Super 14 replica.
Much mirth was made of Scotts ball being the yield on his $400k deposit in a Macquarie Bank Gateway product.
Once again some splendidly fast play the balls were slowed down sensationally by Trooper. his amazing injection of a lack of pace was offset by his flamboyance with ball in hand.
If Scotty's try was the work of Merlin and Troopers flamboyance with the ball in hand captivating then Mick Watts try was pure Rudolph Nureyev (a bloke dancer in tights for you Aussies).
Mick took the spun a full 360 and a quick pas de deux later he was through for a try. Skip McGrath was left open mouthed, Paul Hawke was left looking at Sean who in turn was clapping such grace with a tear in his eye.
As time wore on and the sweat built a few of the "trimmer" individuals played without t-shirts. The real men such as Skip, Boyo and Mad Irish Paul respectfully kept their shirts on.
Another great night had playing with a ball, see you next Thursday for more. Onwards and upwards with the Newport Nasties.
