Newport Nasties Ladies and gentlemen, the Newport Nasties trophy tonight eclipsed the Bledisloe Cup.
Our wonderfully crafted Sandstone trophy has tonight lined up at Porters reserve Newport next to the famous old silver pot that Newport Nasties Trophy and Bledisloe will be played for on Saturday night between the Wallabies and All Blacks.Sean admitted afterwards that meeting the Pope was "a close second to tonight, I couldn't have been prouder than to see the Nasties ball up in lights next to the Bledisloe." He added "Although, given Damien's dodgy shoulder I half expected him to 'do a Hawko' and you know drop it cold". Damien, the proud crafstmen of the Nasties trophy and injured warrior admitted that "being back near the trophy has stirred the blood again and that he was considering another outing for the club". This was later denied when close to Mrs Damien. Once again the power of the Nasties was in evidence at Porters, well done to the ARU, Newport Junior and Senior RFC and of course The Newport Nasties. onwards and upwards with the Newport Nasties. |
