Nasties Rugby
Nasties Rugby
A few short months ago the Newport Nasties were just a twinkle in the postmans eye.

Tomorrow afternoon, Sunday May 4th sees the Nasties take the park in anger/stupidity for the first time. There have been some high points in  the build up to the event, none higher than the water tower at the top of Bigola plateau.

There have been some lows too, wrestling half naked men on the beach springs to mind.

There will be a tinge of sadness tomorrow when the team runs out onto the park without Carmody and Charlton (pictured), both

Injured Backs

having been ruled out by hamstring pulls in our run out last Sunday.

Carmody  in particular seemed saddend, he was quoted this morning saying "last week I was nervous about the match, but today I am looking forward to it".

Hawko seems to have benefited most from the injuries, showing his true versatility moving from tight head prop to outside half seemlesly, this raises the issue of us having the heaviest half backs in world rugby with former loose head prop Scotty Dalton (amply) filling the number 9 jersey and Hawko at 10.

Onwards and upwards with the Newport Nasties.
