The Northern Beaches glamour rugby side, the Newport Nasties have completed preparations for this weekend's season opener against the Withered Oaks at Oakhill College on Sunday. After the disappointing cancellation of their scheduled match at the Hawkesbury Historicals Gala Day three weeks ago due to the deluge that engulfed Sydney, the Nasties are well prepared and chomping at the bit to get a run on the paddock. ".....I think the piggies are fired-up and ready to tackle anything that moves" said Committeeman Sean Gartner on FoxSport News.
After an 8 month hiatas from the rugby field, the Nasties were put through their paces by Coach Trollope at the Doggy Dome tonight in preparation for their first match since the magnificent Mosman Whales game at the World Rugby Festival last October. A team run then ensued before a game of touch football was played to finish off the night in front of an enthusiastic crowd of supporters.
