In a preview to the FIFA World Cup, the 2nd Annual Nasties Soccer World Cup will be held at Hitchcock Park, Avalon tonight. It puts an Aussie Team of superstars like Flynnie, Matty Read and Frank Elsworth up against a Rest Of The World side comprising Stavros and other mainly English participants. While there is plenty of gamesmanship going on behind the scenes, The ROW side (or British Lions as they were known) cannot forget the thrashing that was dished out to them in last year's game. ".....yeh, they gave it to us before the game but could not match the talk on the pitch" Jamie King commented. It is also a timely reminder to the ROW that they were emphatically beaten by the Aussie Team in the Nasties 20/20 Cricket match last November. "Whatever....." Tink scowled to the media.

Aussie Team celebrate 20/20 Cricket Triumph

In what should be an entertaining match, a large crowd is expected tonight with a sell-out predicted. "We have had plenty of interest from everyone....." the King of Hitchy, Dim-Sim said. Also watching with interest will be Pim Verbeek and the Socceroos as niggling injuries begin to spoil their campaign. ".....with Harry and Tim struggling a bit, a good showing in tonights match could result in a call to South Africa" commented Captain Lucas Neill. We all look forward to an entertaining night.
