Nasties After some thought here are a few highlights of what was a comprehensively entertaining day.
Firstly, well done to Penrith for making the day possible and enjoyable, also to Ray thanks for reffing - great job. Alright with the formalaties out of the way, here we go: The new digs - Hitchcock Park - performed well, welcomed us with open arms like a lost love returning to the bossom, did not hurt anyone and most importantly serviced the need for refreshment 10/10 The new blokes - With a squad of 72 - There is only time to run the rule over a few: Frank Elsworth - Thanks must go to Frank Elsworth Senior for lending his son his hands on Sunday. Thanks Frank snr, Junior had a solid game. A good asset to the backline. A solid 7/10 Darren Vaux - shoulder pads negated all his other great work - 0/10 Colin Scott - Light on his feet, aggressive, hard running powerhouse winger - swapped hands with Frank as the interchanged allowing an acceptable performance - 6/10 needs a score to gain more points The old stagers -
Quite a few of the "been there, bought the t-shirt" crowd returned - Again only time to run the rule over a few: Paul Hawke - Dramatic weight loss has seen him slim down from 55kg to 54kg - this showed a little on the field when continuosly put on his arse by the purple shorted emu - 4/10 no pride can be taken in being the lightest member of the team Mick Watts - See Paul Hawke Pup Walsh - There for his throwing in - despite uncontested lineouts, contrived to lose 4 out of 6 throw in's. 5/10 not enough "power running" in the loose. Sin Bin Hodgson - Brilliant attempt at ruining the game, thoroughly deserved punishment. -1/10 Hamstring Flynnn - Solid performance, best summed up by Dean Guberina "his communication skills were lacking often leading to disjointed play for us outside backs. Would expect him to improve as the mungo leaves him". So lads, all up a great day, great start, onwards and upwards with the nasties. |
