NASTIES TAKE ON THE LIONS

A confident Newport Nasties made a welcomed return to Porters Reserve on Saturday in front of a packed crowd against local rivals the Dee Why Lions. After the 1st Grade team had decimated the hapless Waverley side 62-12, the Blue White & Pinks were confident of a good showing. "They all trained really well this week. It should be good....." said a spirited Coach Mojo just before kickoff.

NASTIES PREPARED FOR SATURDAY NIGHT

The Newport Nasties have all trained superbly in their final team training run for Saturday's much anticipated clash with local rivals the Dee Why Lions at Porters Reserve, Newport. The match will follow the Newport Breakers 1st Grade teams clash with Waverley in front of what is expected to be a lively crowd. Coach Mojo had the team on their feet and training hard for the tough encounter with the forwards and backs then separating to practice manouverings before joining for a final team run in the last 15 minutes. "They are all looking very strong and eager for Saturday....." Tinkabelle Bentley commented to the waiting media. Kickoff will be at 4.45pm after the 1st Grade Match has been completed.

GLAMOUR SIDES LOVEDALE SUCCESS

The Northern Beaches Glamour Rugby outfit, the Newport Nasties have returned home from their most successful Lovedale Gala Day at the Hunter Valley last weekend. A contingent of 19 elite athletes made the trek north and they did not disappoint the boistrous busloads of supporters at Tatlers Winery on Sunday. Among those making a return in the Blue, White & Pinks was the revered Dim Sim who showed what an asset he is to the team. "It gets very thirsty out there - time for a drink....." Dimmy commented on his way to the Bar Tent before a ball was kicked.
